Spiced Blood Orange Tonic

Fresh blood oranges with cinnamon, nutmeg, star anise, clove, quassia bitters band more. This gives off a very Christmassy vibe but that’s a mere coincidence.

we’re using this with Shiraz gin, Christmas spiced gin, any plain London dry but we’re especially taken with mixing this with Heathcote Gin’s Smokey Chilli gin to make a spicy negroni.

Going further we’re making a butterscotch sauce with this, butter and brandy. We’re poaching pears in it, and while you’re in the kitchen why not whip up a quick mulled wine and get yourself poached at the same time?
